2011 list of projects around the house/farm.

these are in no particular order...
  • Order 20ton top soil to use for various projects
  • Fill in low spots of yard with top soil & plant grass
  • Add more stakes to the tree line fence so fencing doesn't sag
    • make a door with 2 stakes so I can get in to weed whack.
  • Buy reinforcement wire to build tomatoes cages and pea/bean fence.
  • Drip Irrigation
    • install pvc underground piping to connect different beds.
    • design 3 zones & price with different web sites
      • Main landscaping / Island
      • Frankie's garden & around garage
      • Veggie Garden (7/4/11)
    • Fertilizer mixer for systems
  • Replace wind break trees that never made it.
  • Add flower bed to west side of patio - plant ornamental grasses (6/25/11)
    • Make pathway for wagon/people
  • Find stumps or old reels for pasture for goats to play on.
  • Check for holes along bottom of pasture fence (points of escape) - fill in as needed
  • Spread pasture grass mix on all bare spots early spring before goats are put back in pasture.
  • Use crabgrass pre-emergent & flea/tick insecticide on entire lawn
  • Plant more strawberries, blueberries, apple tree(s)
  • Get new roof panels for east side of red barn to replace grain openings that leak.
  • Add gutters to red barn - drain into new down spout entries.
    • re-design basketball hoop supports to allow for gutters
  • Add gutters to drum house - install rain barrel to drain into - use to water flag pole garden.
  • Replace leaky east side gutter on big barn.
  • Get red barn, big barn, & drum house roofs painted
  • Buy new smoke detectors for house (1/3/11)
  • Finish re-wiring in basement
    • Add new outlets for gardening area & the sump pump.
  • Insulate rest of basement & add the finishing material.
  • Get estimates to replace all basement windows (including pantry) with glass block (installed Late Nov)
  • New insulated exterior doors for basement & back porch entry. (Installed Dec 2011)
  • New storm door for front & back doors. (Dec 2011)
  • New carpet in the living room (estimate $1000 installed)
  • Put together B&W photo frame collage in bedroom
  • New ceiling light in bathroom
  • Get 3 stumps removed.
  • Get living room picture window crank fixed.
  • Fix wood floor/molding gap in office entry.
  • Refinish window sills that have sun &/or water damage.
  • Install more waterproofing molding in basement by gardening area & the wine cellar room.
  • Install crown molding in library and master bedroom.
  • Repaint stairs/hallway walls
    • remove rest of screws & patch holes
  • New Garage Door
  • Paint man door for garage and drum house.
  • Add couple drainage tile lines in garden connected to house drain tile. (Hire Jack)
  • Better organization in garage
  • Redo landscaping lights
  • Prune old apple trees.
  • Research and create calendar for apple tree spraying.
  • Create calendar for various repetitive tasks that seem to get forgot & stick to it.
    • spraying for weeds in driveway
    • fertilizing flowers, veggies, fruits, landscaping

  1. Wow, chica, you've got a full plate already. Across the street from work, they are ALWAYS putting out wire reels of different sizes for free. Next time you plan a trip down to the parent's, let me know and I'll pull a couple into our building for you.

  2. OHHHH totally!!!! Do you know how big they are? I could probably only get one in the back of my Jeep at a time. I thought it would be hard to find some - yay! Let me know when you see some - maybe I'll make a special trip up that way to our Canton office for the day and pick it up then.

  3. they range in size from little to big darlin. Maybe you should measure the back of the jeep for me to figure out what will fit?
